Министерство образования и науки России не планирует менять срок подготовки водителей в автошколах, однако увеличит пора, отводимое для практического обучения, сообщает ИТАР-ТАСС со ссылкой на замглавы ведомства Исаака Калину.
“Мы не планируем увеличивать срок общего обучения в автошколах, однако с 1 января 2009 года в 1,5 раза увеличим часы, выделяемые на вождение водителей категории “B” “, - сказал он. Так, вместо привычных 32 обязательных часов за рулем начинающим водителям придется прочертить от мала до велика 50.
По словам Калины, коснется это не лишь водителей легковых машин - срок, отводимый на практику для получающих права на вождение грузовыми машинами и автобусами, увеличится на 20%.
Освободить пора под практические занятия предполагается за счет перераспределения изучаемых тем. В частности, будет исключено изучение техобслуживания автомобиля и подробности его устройства.
“На днях к нам из Министерства образования пришла новая программа “Подготовка водителей транспортных средств”, где и прописаны новые правила, - рассказывает “Комсомольской правде” директор одной из автошкол Иркутска Геннадий Кабанов.
Он сообщил, что в программе, в частности, прописано еще одно нововведение – обязательные занятия с психологом по безопасности дорожного движения.
Кабанов сказал, что от мала до велика это не сможет не отпечатлеться на кошельках учащихся автошкол. Если сейчас стоимость практического занятия за час в Иркутске доходит до 370 рублей, то стоимость обучения подорожает на 6 000-7 000 рублей.
Такую инициативу уже поддержали инструкторы автошкол: по их мнению, эта мера необходимая, дополнительные часы понадобятся не лишь на обучение стандартным упражнениям за рулем на площадке, однако и приданию уверенности новичку на дороге, в общем потоке движения.
“Есть люд, которые от мала до велика схватывают на лету, однако ведь большинство не успевает обрести уверенность за рулем”, - отмечают инспектора.
Subaru показала модель Dex
Subaru представила первые официальные фотографии новой модели под названием Dex. Этот автомашина уже скоро поступит в продажу на японском рынке (а вот в Европу он, видимо, этак и не попадет).
Сразу нужно произнести – Dex не являются собственной разработкой Subaru. Этот автомашина создавали специалисты Toyota. И его уже продают под именами Toyota bB и Daihatsu Cоо. От двух последних моделей Subaru Dex отличается по большому счету лишь иной «мордой» ну да эмблемами. Однако это не преуменьшает достоинств автомобиля. Внутри он будет просторный, имеет пять кресел (а если уложить другой линия сидений, то получится весьма пристойный багажный отсек). Под капотом Subaru Dex находится лишь бензиновый двигатель объемом 1,3 л, какой выдает 91 л.с., какой работает лишь совместно с 4-ступенчатым «автоматом». А вот привод будет не лишь передним, однако и полным.
В Японии за Subaru Dex начнут упрашивать в пересчете с иен возле $15 000.
Too big to fail seems to be the mantra these days for everyone looking for a handout from the US government.
GM and many others are claiming that if GM is forced into bankruptcy, the whole industry may go down and cause massive harm to America’s economic well-being.
The worst-case scenario goes something like this: GM collapses and immediately many of its suppliers fail since they are already in trouble too. Those same suppliers take down Ford production and the industry goes into a chaotic contraction with the loss of thousands of jobs and severely eroding America’s manufacturing base.
But some analysts think GM’s only course of action is to declare bankruptcy and restructure. And they say that if GM does it right with a good plan, it could be the best bet to save the company and the industry as a whole.
GM is hampered by the legacy costs of its commitments to employee and retiree benefits. Those penions and health-care liabilities can be re-negotiated with unions (and government) only under bankruptcy protection.

According to Pearlstein, the danger is if GM is forced to declare bankruptcy in a collapse without a plan. Doing so may cause a panic by suppliers and scare consumers away. That could actually precipitate the worst-case scenario that those interested parties are claiming will happen if they do not get a bailout.
No one really knows what will happen if GM fails. Many in the US Congress as well as the incoming Obama administration don’t want to see that scenario play out. If GM can survive until Obama is sworn in, they will likely get a bailout along with Ford and Chrysler. But if they go down before the Bush administration reverses course and gives the Detroit 3 the 25 billion dollars, we may just get an answer to that question.
A million crystals. That’s what this MINI Cooper is glittering from, one million Swarovski crystals of 40 different colours. The creation is by Ken and Annie Burkitt of Ontario, Canada and it depicts 10 images of iconic American institutions, things like Mt Rushmore, the statue of Liberty, the American flag, White House, the soaring eagle and the Hollywood Hills sign among others. Resulting in eye-catching mobile art, the two artists placed these crystals by hand, one by one on the MINI.
The bling car, named American Icon, is featured at the new Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum at Piccadilly Circus in London.

Nissan is making a few changes to the GT-R for Model Year 2009. Soon it will be two years since the GT-R went to market in Japan and these changes/ additions will benefit that market first. MY 09 is being dubbed Series II.
It gets a power upgrade of 5ps to 485ps/ 357kW, the white point paint is now Storm White, Brembo brake calipers are now rebadged as Nissan instead of Brembo, and the front license plate base has been removed and the fuel tank increased from 71 litres to 73.8 litres. Fuel economy thus goes from 8.2 km/L to 8.5km/L. However, all this comes at yet another price increase, this time up 5 percent.

Volkswagen in Germany has announced that the Tiguan is now available in front-wheel-drive as well. Tiguan’s base model Trend & Fun, will offer FWD option to run with its TSI and TDI engine options. A maximum trailer load of 2,000kg is still possible even with this new drive system. The 1.4 TSI petrol engine produces 110kW/ 150hp and meets the strict EU 5 emissions standards, with an average 7.4 litres per 100km of recorded economy on the EU cycle.
On the other side of the spectrum is a 2.0 TDI turbo diesel engine producing 103kW/ 140hp and pulling power measured at 320Nm, and available at a lowly 1,750rpm. The TDI posts an average of 5.9 litres per 100km. That 1.4 TSI Trend & Fun can be financed via Volkswagen Bank at €275 a month from a 20 percent deposit over 36 months.
Looking for a new look for your CL-Class? Japanese tuners VITT Performance have unveiled a new widebody kit for the Mercedes CL-Class coupes. In VITT CL-Class Super Wide Edition form, the curvy but conservative CL gets the supercar treatment, with dramatic reworkings of the front and rear fenders and side sills. The bulging fenders are complemented by a choice of new front and rear aprons and a spoiler package. The new front bumper includes quad foglights. VITT also adds a roof spoiler and a vented hood.
20-inch wheels and a stainless exhaust comprise the bulk of the mechanical upgrades in this appearance package.
Pricing for the full VITT CL-Class Super Wide conversion is set at about $20,000.

Is Lotus feeling a bit of pressure? After the folks who invented the “lighter-is-better” racing philosophy were shown up by the newly-arrived KTM X-Bow in the GT4 Super Sport series in 2008, Lotus has big plans for 2009. The Lotus Sport 2-Eleven GT4 Supersport debuts next year, facing the X-Bow and Donkervoort D8 in the GT4 Super Sport class. The 2-Eleven GT4 Supersport is a track-only vehicle, with a new composite body and more power than the current 2-Eleven.
Lotus has tweaked the induction and exhaust systems, remapped the engine management and made the supercharger more powerful. This brings the 2-Eleven GT4 up to 270 PS (266 bhp) with 247 Nm torque. A six-speed sequential transmission with a center-mounted lever features a rev-matching “auto-blip” system for downshifts. A limited-slip differential is also part of the package. The suspension has been upgraded with stiffer springs and race-spec rear toe links.
The 2-Eleven GT4 Supersport is wrapped in a dramatic aerodynamic composite body that features a rigid tonneau cover, deep front splitter and an aggressive carbon fiber rear wing. A full roll cage and carbon-fiber racing seat are also part of the package.
Lotus also says that many of the modifications made to this car can be retrofitted to existing 2-Elevens.
Deliveries of the initial ten-car run begin in March, just in time for the 2009 racing season, and the Lotus 2-Eleven GT4 Supersport has an MSRP of £78,255.
